The Brandon Agency, one of the largest independently owned integrated marketing communications agencies in the Carolinas, was once again selected by Santee Cooper – South Carolina’s state-owned electric and water utility and the state’s largest power producer – as agency of record.
The Brandon Agency initially earned the business in 2012 after a rigorous Request for Proposal process. The most recent defense was part of a utility-required review involving multiple agencies.
“Santee Cooper is a progressive public power utility with many unique, customer-focused programs that make South Carolina a better place to live, work and play,” said Scott Brandon, CEO of The Brandon Agency. “We are extremely proud to once again be selected to work with them. Being awarded this opportunity is not only a recognition of the work we have done over the past several years, but also an opportunity for us to showcase our continued commitment to Santee Cooper’s success.”
Founded in 1934, Santee Cooper directly serves more than 174,000 retail customers in Berkeley, Horry and Georgetown counties and indirectly powers more than 700,000 additional people through the state’s electric cooperatives and other wholesale customers, ultimately bringing electricity to more than two million South Carolinians in all 46 counties. Santee Cooper also supplies power directly to 29 large industrial customers in 10 counties, the town of Bamberg, the City of Georgetown and the Charleston Air Force Base.
Santee Cooper began South Carolina’s first Green Power program in 2001 and now generates 28 megawatts of electricity from six landfill generator stations throughout the state. Santee Cooper also has solar installations at 28 schools across the state, Coastal Carolina University in Conway, S.C., the Center for Hydrogen Research in Aiken, S.C. and the Technical College of the Lowcountry in Beaufort, S.C.
