The Brandon Agency has named Andy Kovan its new account planning and development director. In his new position, Kovan will focus on understanding consumers and their behavior, developing new ideas for existing clients, working closely with creative teams to ensure that ideas are strategically on track, enhancing the research function within the agency and developing creative, actionable ideas to enhance clients’ brand value.

Kovan previously served as the director of brand strategy and creative for the agency, and Pat Harris has taken over creative responsibilities as creative director.

“In his new role, Andy will be able to dive deeper into the planning process and the study of our clients’ consumers,” said Scott Brandon, CEO of The Brandon Agency. “Andy continues to be a valuable asset in delivering measurable results and smart ideas to our clients.”

During his time at the agency, Kovan has earned accolades for his work with a variety of clients, such as ADDY Awards – including several Best of Show categories, Telly Awards, recognition from the NTSA and, most importantly, recognition from clients.

Prior to joining The Brandon Agency, Kovan served as an account supervisor for Henderson Advertising where he worked on Costa Del Mar Sunglasses (winning a National Gold ADDY for his efforts), Toto USA, Ryland Homes, and FlexCheck Cash Advance.

Kovan received his bachelor of arts in public relations from Texas Tech University. Kovan is currently doing postgraduate work at Goucher College in Baltimore, Md., in the field of cultural sustainability.
