The Brandon Agency, a leading full-service creative agency in the Carolinas, has been named #19 on the Best Places to Work in South Carolina list for 2020. The recognition marks the agency’s third appearance on the annual list, which is presented by SC Biz News in partnership with the South Carolina Chamber of Commerce and Best Companies Group.

This survey-and-awards program identifies, recognizes, and honors the best employers in the state of South Carolina for their positive contributions to the state’s economy, workforce, and businesses. One of 74 statewide honorees on this year’s 15th-annual list, The Brandon Agency has experienced a year of continued growth despite the challenges presented by the COVID-19 economic crisis.

“Being recognized as a great place to work is something we’ll never take for granted, but in these unpredictable times, making this list has a special honor to it,” said Scott Brandon, The Brandon Agency’s CEO. “Before, during, and hopefully after the COVID-19 downturn, we’re proud to be an agency that continues to grow, works creatively to support our clients, and most of all, puts our people first. We thank SC Biz News for the recognition and look forward to what’s ahead for us in 2021.”

The Myrtle Beach-based company has been a growth catalyst behind many well-known brands including ScanSource, Security Finance, CresCom Bank, Sonoco, AgriSupply, Atlas Copco, frogg toggs, FireDisc and Fish Hippie, developing and delivering tangible results that positively impact business. The Brandon Agency has two office locations – Charleston and Myrtle Beach – in the state, though work-remote options are available companywide, as teams collaborate across multiple offices to support clients in categories including travel and tourism, healthcare, financial, and outdoors.

Companies from across the state entered the two-part survey process to determine the Best Places to Work in South Carolina. The first part consisted of evaluating each nominated company’s workplace policies, practices, philosophy, systems, and demographics. The second part consisted of an employee survey to measure the employee experience. The combined scores determined the top companies and the final ranking. Best Companies Group managed the overall registration and survey process, analyzed the data, and determined the final rankings.

To be considered for participation, companies had to fulfill the following eligibility requirements:

  • be a for-profit or not-for-profit business or government entity;
  • be a publicly or privately held business;
  • have a facility in the state of South Carolina;
  • have a minimum of 15 employees working in the state of South Carolina; and
  • be in business a minimum of 1 year

The ranked companies were recognized at a virtual awards ceremony on August 21, 2020, and the rankings will be published in the September 2020 issue of SCBIZ magazine. For more information on the Best Places to Work in South Carolina program, visit www.BestPlacesToWorkSC.com.
