THE BRANDON AGENCY NAMED AS AGENCY OF RECORD FOR SANTEE COOPER

Representatives from The Brandon Agency today announced that the firm has been named agency of record for Santee Cooper, South Carolina’s state-owned electric and water utility and the state’s largest power producer. The Brandon Agency will manage and execute marketing efforts for Santee Cooper including developing a strategic marketing plan, creative development, media planning and buying and social media.
The Brandon Agency was selected as part of a rigorous Request for Proposal process involving several of South Carolina’s largest advertising agencies.
Founded in 1934, Santee Cooper directly serves more than 164,000 retail customers in Berkeley, Horry and Georgetown counties, ultimately bringing power to more than two million South Carolinians.Santee Cooper is the primary source of power distributed by the state's 20 electric cooperatives to more than 700,000 customers located in the state's 46 counties. Santee Cooper also supplies power directly to 29 large industrial customers in 10 counties, the town of Bamberg, the City of Georgetown and the Charleston Air Force Base.
Santee Cooper began South Carolina's first Green Power program in 2001 and now generates 28 megawatts of electricity from six landfill generator stations throughout the state. Santee Cooper also has solar installations at 20 schools across the state, Coastal Carolina University in Conway, S.C., the Center for Hydrogen Research in Aiken, S.C. and the Technical College of the Lowcountry in Beaufort, S.C.
